Your favourite childhood treat is handcrafted in these Oreo dirt cups. Customising this dessert for each celebration is simple!
INGREDIENTS
SERVINGS: 8 CUPS– 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)– ⅓ cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder (30 grams)– ¼ cup cornstarch (32 grams)– ¼ teaspoon salt– 3 ½ cups whole milk– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (45 grams)– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract– 1 cup heavy whipping cream (240 ml)– 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (15 grams)– 18 Oreos regular or double stuf– 16 to 24 gummy worm
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Mix sugar, cocoa powder, cornflour, and salt in a big saucepan. Gradually pour the milk into the pot with the dry ingredients and whisk until mixed.
Step 2
Bring the pot to a boil over medium heat, swirling or whisking regularly (use a rubber spatula to scrape the bottom and sides).
Step 3
After one minute of boiling, the mixture should thicken and coat a spoon or rubber spatula.After turning off the heat, add the butter one tablespoon at a time and vanilla extract.
Step 4
A fine-mesh strainer should filter the mixture into a heatproof basin. Refrigerate the custard for 2–3 hours with plastic wrap on top.
Step 5
Cool the ingredients and whisk until smooth. Set aside.In another clean bowl, mix heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar.
Step 6
Mix on low to medium speed for 30 seconds to 1 minute using a handheld mixer or stand mixer with the whisk attachment, then increase speed to medium-high until stiff peaks form.
Step 7
Half the whipped cream into the chocolate pudding until just incorporated, then add the remainder until fully integrated. Oreos can be crushed in a blender or processor.
Step 8
Pour ⅓ cup chocolate pudding into 8 9-10 ounce cups. Spread it evenly with a spoon. Distribute 1 and ½ tablespoons of crumbled Oreos crumbs evenly over each cup of pudding.
Step 9
Place ⅓ cup of pudding mixture in each cup and distribute evenly. Include 1.5 teaspoons of Oreo crumbs in each cup.
Step 10
Put all soil cups on a baking sheet and refrigerate 2–3 hours.Add two to three gummy worms to each cup before serving.
