Simple How To Make Churros Recipe

For crispness and freshness, make churros at home! Spongy inside, crisp edges, and cinnamon sugar make these delicious.  


– 1cupwater – 1/4cupunsalted butterdiced into small piece – 2tablespoonswhite granulated sugar – 1/4teaspooncinnamon – 1/4teaspoonnutmeg – 1/4teaspoonsalt – 1cupall-purpose flour – 1large eggcold – 1teaspoonvanilla extract – Vegetable oilfor frying Cinnamon sugar: – 1/2cupwhite granulated sugar – 1 1/2teaspoonsground cinnamon



Put sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cinnamon sugar.Over medium-high heat, melt water, unsalted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large pot.


Reduce heat to medium-low and whisk in flour with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon. Stir constantly until the mixture is glossy, smooth, and lump-free (a few tiny lumps are good).

Mix flour, vanilla, and egg with a hand mixer until smooth. Blend if separated.


Use a WiltonM1 1/2-inch star tip to pipe the mixture. In a large saucepan or deep cast-iron skillet, heat 1 1/2–2 inches vegetable oil on medium-high. 


Ensure an oil candy thermometer reads 360°F. Patiently pipe the ingredients into the heated oil, pressing 6-inch churros and trimming the end with clean kitchen scissors. Do not overcrowd the pan.


Fry churros for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.Using a slotted spoon, transfer cooked churros to paper towels for 2-3 minutes before adding to cinnamon-sugar mixture.
