Healthy Plum Galette Recipe

The ideal mid-summer dessert is this rustic plum galette or crostata. It is luscious, flavorful, and amazing in its simplicity.  

– 1¼ cups all-purpose flour – 2 tablespoon sugar – ¼ teaspoon salt – 8 tablespoon unsalted butter  – ¼ cup sour cream – ¼ cup ice water – ¼ teaspoon cinnamon  – ⅓ cup brown sugar  – 1 pound plums  – 1 large egg yolk



Add 1 1/4 cups flour, sugar, and salt to a food processor and pulse. When butter is added, pulse till coarse grain. After adding sour cream and cold water, pulse until dough just comes together.


Pat dough into a disc. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes wrapped in plastic. Preheat oven to 425℉. Roll parchment paper on a baking pan. 


Roll the dough disc into a 12-inch round on a lightly floured surface and place on the baking sheet. Mix cinnamon and brown sugar in a bowl.


Place the plums in the dough centre, leaving a 1 1/2-inch border. Evenly sprinkle sugar mixture over plums. Fold dough over plums. 


Brush the rim with egg wash and add brown sugar if desired. After 45 minutes, the galette should have a golden crust and soft, bubbling fruit. 


Let the galette cool on the baking sheet for 30 minutes, top with powdered sugar, cut into wedges, and serve.
