Garlic Butter Shrimp Recipe

This garlic butter prawn recipe, with or without wine, is simple and will make your dinner stand out. In pasta or rice, serve this elegant, garlicky, buttery appetiser. 

1 ¼ pounds raw large shrimp prawns 2 tablespoon of olive oil 4 tablespoon butter 5 garlic cloves minced ½ cup white wine or seafood broth Salt and pepper to taste ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes 2 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed ⅓ cup parsley chopped

In a large, nonstick pan set over medium heat, melt three tablespoons of butter and add olive oil.

To prevent the butter from browning, stir it often. Add garlic and sauté it briefly until fragrant after it has melted.

Cook the prawns until they begin to take on a light pink colour. Add pepper and salt for seasoning.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the broth and red pepper flakes. Reduce the liquid by half by simmering it.

When seasoning the prawns, use a moderate amount of salt, depending on the type of broth you are using.

Though for maximum flavour, it's crucial to season prawns with enough salt. If unsure, wait until the very end and add salt and pepper right before serving.

Lastly, add the parsley, lemon juice, and the remaining tablespoon of butter. Serve right away.
