Chocolate M&Ms Cookie Recipe 

These chewy cookies with M&Ms and rich chocolate flavour are perfect for Christmas cookie trays or midweek desserts with vanilla ice cream. 

– 8 tablespoons unsalted butter  – ¼ cup white granulated sugar – ½ cup cocoa powder  – ½ cup brown sugar  – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or ½ teaspoon vanilla paste – 2 large egg – 1 and ½ cups all-purpose flour  – 1 teaspoon baking soda – ¼ teaspoon salt



Heat oven to 350 F. Mix butter and sugars in a large bowl. For smooth, creamy results, beat on low with an electric hand mixer or stand mixer bowl.

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well and gradually add to wet ingredients. Add ½ or 1 cup, beat on low until combined, and repeat with next batch.

Mix ingredients until almost combined, leaving some lumps. Use a wooden spoon to mix M&Ms. I recommend refrigerating the thick, sticky batter.

Chilling batter between batches is crucial. Chilled batter should resemble playdough and not stick. Small balls should roll easily.

coop Roll 2-inch balls from 2 tablespoons of batter. Place the cookie balls 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

The cookies will be soft-centered. After cooling, they set well and remain soft, chewy, and buttery.

Wait 5-10 minutes before transferring the cookies to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
